- Please submit only your own original work.
- You must be at least 13 years old to enter.
- All rights to all entries permanently become the property of Happenstance Press upon submission.
- Not all entries will be selected for publication.
- Entries will not be returned, regardless of whether or not they are published.
- Entries may be edited by Happenstance Press.
- Include your name, hometown, contact information and age with your entry. (For adults, your full name and hometown will be included with your entry if published. For those under 18, only your first name and age will be included.)
- All entries should focus on a person whose Christian faith was or is important in his or her life.
- Please relate your entry to one of the principles covered in the book “Hero For Christ”. These include: “Put God First”, “Forgive”, “Develop Your Talents”, “Stand Up For What You Believe”, “Serve The Least”, “Be Bold” and “Value Each Individual”. (Full List)
- Essays should be between 250 and 1000 words long. Please send all essays via email to hero@heroforchrist.com with “My Christian Hero” as the subject line.
- Drawings or illustrations should fit on a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Please send a high quality scan via email or the original (not a copy) to “My Christian Hero”, Happenstance Press, 413 Fairwood Avenue, Columbus OH 43205.
- Video entries should be under three minutes long, and should be uploaded to You Tube as a video response to this video. Please note: Not all videos will be approved as responses.
- Please allow at least a month before expecting a decision on whether your entry will be published. We will try to acknowledge all entries, but may not be able to do so if the response is overwhelming.
